The oldest brand of Armenian brandy, Ararat, was founded by Nerses and Vasily Tairyan in 1887. Over 130 years ago, these pioneers laid the foundations of what would become a pinnacle of premium, high-quality brandy, with its first international recognition occurring in the 1902 World Exhibition in the birthplace of cognac: France. Since then, Ararat has grown in recognition, notoriety, and breadth, spanning throughout 35 countries as the first global Armenian cognac.

Their award-winning statements offer a beautiful balance of history, tradition, and authenticity with modernity, uniqueness, and innovation. At their Yerevan distillery, experienced cognac artisans craft brandy with local Armenian grapes and fresh water from the Katnakhbyur spring and age in barrels made with Caucasian oak wood. Ararat 15 year is proudly named Vaspurakan in honor of the medieval Armenian Prince. Embodying the character and nobility of both the prince and the country, Vaspurakan Brandy is a beautiful deep amber color with light gold tints. Its aromas offer a delicately sweet bouquet of Armenian dried fruits. The palate is rich with notes of candied fruits, brioche, coffee and spices. The generous palate leads into a light acidity before entering a long, lingering finish.
