About The Music A collection of pieces for piano that are melodious and tonal – but also new. In this book you will find a variety of styles; baroque fugues, a little jazz, impressionism, a waltz, lullaby’s, children’s music, descriptions of Northern Lights, Rainfall and much more. Something for everyone. While mostly original compositions there are some arrangements of well-known melodies such as Ave Maria (Gounod), Silent Night, and a Waltz from Swan Lake. The music is at times difficult, fantasia and virtuosic in nature; while at other times it is filled with reflective melodic material. I wrote much of this music while playing for ballet classes. I especially loved the slow lyrical pieces that seemed to fit many adage exercises: thus the lyrical quality of many of these pieces. My involvement with the children at these classes also inspired pieces like Dragons and Monsters and Playful Puppy.
